Fall Program Overview

The U13 to U18 teams play 11 a-side or "full field" soccer. The program provides a fun and rewarding atmosphere where players continue to develop soccer skills, foster friendships, and stay physically fit. There are numerous divisions in each age group, and teams are placed based on the previous years record.

The Gunners participate in the Puget Sound REC League. This is a newly formed league created and run by the PSPL. The league is sanctioned by US Club soccer. All pactices and home games will take place in Issaquah, and away games can be in Renton, Maple Valley, and other surrounding areas.

* We run a full rec program in the Fall. In the Spring, Issaquah Parks and Rec runs the league with support from ISC. During registration, players are grouped by school as best as possible and are assigned a volunteer coach (normally a parent from the team).

Volunteer Coaches

All of the teams are assigned a volunteer coach, who is typically a parent from the team. Parent coaches are not required to have prior experience. Coaches need to have enthusiasm and a willingness to be at each session to help guide and teach their players. Coaches interested in educational courses or viewing practice session ideas (including videos), should view the material presented in the Coaches menu.

Time Committment

Teams may start practicing in the first week of August. Games begin the first weekend after Labor Day and the league runs for 10 to 12 weeks, usually ending early to mid November.

Practices are held anytime between 4pm and 8pm, Monday through Thursday and last from 60 to 90 minutes. Field usage for practices is usually cut back in October due to daylight, weather and field conditions. The practice schedules are determined by the coach of your team. As your coach has volunteered his/her time to organize the team, they get to decide when and where the practices will be in order to accommodate their schedule. Please do not request to switch teams because the practice time the coach has chosen does not fit your schedule. If you are concerned about this, then we encourage you to volunteer to coach.

Game times and days are dependent upon age and gender. The only exception to this is if a coach is in charge of multiple teams, or notifies us in advance that they have a work conflict we need to try and accommodate.

Uniforms are availble for purchase at the Soccer West store in Factoria. More information about the Uniform Kit can be found under the Documents & Forms menu.
