About the WPSL

The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an independent highly competitive national league whose main focus is on the development of competitive premier women's soccer teams. There are over 70 teams participating from all over the United States. Issaquah joined the league in 2012. In 2012, Issaquah Soccer Club formed its first Women's Premier Soccer League team (WPSL). The team was formed with the idea to give local women, as well as you players within the club and surrounding clubs the opportunity to play competitive soccer in a professional environment. At ISC, the Vision for our WPSL team is formed with the idea in mind of making women's soccer a community sport in Issaquah and being woven into the fabric of the residents of Issaquah and the surrounding areas. ISC WPSL also makes every effort to bring quality soccer to all levels of the community and to promote the stature of female athletes as role models for our youth.

ISC Gunners FC WPSL team took second place in two consecutive seasons, 2012 and 2013. In the 2014 season, ISC took the Northwest league title and travelled to Southern CA to regionals. In the 2015 season, ISC again, took the Northwest league title and went all the way to the regional finals for the first time in history where they lost 2-1 to SoCal FC with only 5 minutes remaining in the match.
Along with making it to the regional final for the first time in club history, ISC had two players hit #1 in the leader boards in the 2015 WPSL season.

ISC WPSL player Erin Vaughan was #1 on the "Top 10 Assist Leaders" board in the country with 6 assists, while our very own ISC WPSL player Macy Jo Harrison was #1 on the "Top 10 Scoring Leaders" board in the country with 15 goals. Macy Jo Harrison was also #1 on the "Top 10 Leaders" baord with 15 goals and 5 assists.

The WPSL season runs from May 1st to August 1st. There is a Regional tournament held the third weekend of July and a National tournament held the last weekend of July. The Regional tournament location is determined each year and is rotated amongst the West coast region, and the location of the National tournament is determined each year by alternating to different parts of the country.
Our mission in conjunction with the WPSL is to:

• Develop a highly competitive amateur women's soccer team
• Provide an opportunity for elite women soccer players to play at the highest level
• Bring quality soccer to all levels of the community
• Promote the stature of female athletes as role models for our youth
• Become a local go-to in the community for all things soccer, including the promotion of women's soccer at the forefront
